WARNING THIS IS VERY LONG (obvious statement is obvious) and my grammar, spelling and structure are less then ideal (this was typed up while under stress so yeah)
Some of you know that recently my life has become a literally hell on December 21, 2012. So I am going to go over some of what happened and why it is messed up (for what I can go over at least).
So to start my day at work was actually fantastic that day, I wasn’t yelled at as usual for doing my job right. There was a Christmas party and food and stuff and it was good (didn’t win any of the prizes they gave away though) but it was over all good.
Then it really hit the fan when I got home. Upon opening the door my sister tells me that I missed a lot (and usually for her that means the usual school drama that I really don’t want to hear about). However the first thing she hits me with is the fact that my dad was fired from work today. In disbelief of that happening I was in a state of mental shock, she then went to continue to say that my grandparents (married for over 50 years) are now considering divorce. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse she tells me that her court case (she was attacked, I not going to go into specifics) favored more to the guy reducing his restraining order from 100 yards to 25 yards (which means he could go to the same school as her).
Now that is a lot to take in when you just got home from work. Now to go into the specifics of 2 of the events.
Lets start with my grandparents, they have been together for pretty much their entire lives (and with most marriages life spans, I think that is one hell of achievement). Now if you knew them, you would know they always fought about something (but none of you know them so that’s why I am explaining it a bit). Anyway the other day my grandmother was going to have a bed frame delivered, and she was going to put her current bed in the guest room of her house. She made one mention of the treadmill being in the room and how she would like to have it moved at some point. Immediately and grandfather (who is almost 80), decided he was going to try to move the 150-200 pound treadmill. Well he got about 5 ft with it in the room then I got the phone call (at freaking 8pm seriously could it not have waited until morning). I can hear my grandmother yelling in the background, while my grandfather asks if I can come over to help move it. Although I was in the middle of something I dropped what I was doing and went next door. Upon arriving nothing but yelling was heard throughout the house. Well to cut some of the story short, we tried to get the treadmill out (which was bigger then the door and my grandfather couldn’t understand because he was like “It got in the room so its going to get out” not realizing that when we got in the room in the first place it was in a box (which means it can slide through a doorway without edges getting in the way) so anyway) I eventually raged, grabbed treadmill and tried to rip it through the door, I stepped on a light bulb (the tube types) which then broke and proceeded to cut my hand on them. (my bad) following that more yelling between my grandparents happened. I then got pissed off almost yelling at them, picked up the treadmill (which weighs a lot) and proceeded to walk it through the house. Meanwhile they are following me calling my name telling me to put it down. “NO I AM GETTING THIS THING OUT OF THE HOUSE” I replied. I then pulled it from the house and said “THERE IT IS OUT” when my grandmother asked if they workers would be able to get in the house where it was, I picked it up again and pulled it to the other side of the deck. After which I began to storm away and at that point I didn’t even want any money for doing that (I was that pissed off) I walked to my car then before I could start it, my grandfather was standing on the deck arm reached out holding $10 yelling at me to come get it. So I went back got the money and nearly did a burnout in the driveway. When I got into my own house my mom saw my heavy breathing and asked if I was alright so I told her a summary of what had happened and walked off to my room. Later I heard her talking to someone saying the look in my eyes was one of a person who was ready to kill. Well I wasn’t going over there for the next day of so, so when they called later that night, my brother and sister when over. After my brother left apparently they started throwing sharp objects at each other (more specifically knives) so she had to separate them (when I didn’t learn this until 2 day later)
Like I said a lot has happened in a short period of time and now for the kicker, my dad’s problem
So my dad has worked for a company that is a non-profit organization for taking care of people with disabilities unable to take care of themselves (unable to feed themselves, dress, eat, etc.) Well before I get too far into the company let me outline the structure of my family and the company; my aunt is the vice president of it (or something of equivalent power or my dad’s boss’s boss), my mom worked as a house manager just like my dad did. So moving on, my dad was fired on 12-21-2012 (really the end of the world for my family) for the reason of “lack of leadership”. Now for what he did for that company that is laughable, he worked at 3 different houses (two of which were forced moves). So to start, he worked at his first home which he was at for I believe 8 years of his 9 years 8 months of service to the company. Now when he first got to this house the staff didn’t do much for the clients in the house. He got the clients to be able to go on vacation with us, go out to eat, he took one of them to see his mother every month (using his personal car no less). They went to church, got baptized, they even got members of the church to come over for dinner with the clients. He revolutionized that house and how they were taken care of. Then the company told him to try his methods in another house, Now he really didn’t want to move to a new house because he made so much progress with those guys but it was either that or they would get rid of him then. So his new place of work was a further commute, and these clients were much much more violent (but it wasn’t completely their fault). There was one time he was at the house just doing some work on the computer, he wasn’t actually working that day. So my sister was with him and one of the clients began to choke on food, did any of the other workers do anything about it. No, my dad quickly noticed and looked at one of his staff and said “call 911”, her response was less then reassuring “huh?”, so instead my sister ran for the phone and called. While she was doing this my dad got to the client, meanwhile another one of his staff was trying to perform the heimlich maneuver, however she was doing it too high which would have only broken his ribs. After doing the maneuver himself and promptly asked the obvious question “what the fuck were you doing he was choking.” (this being the only time he had to swear at his staff),soon after the ambulance arrived. So his staff really must have cared about the clients huh? Well while they didn’t care much for the clients they also didn’t care much for my dad. One of the most pressing things, not all of his staff liked him. Particularly his assistant (who wanted his job) so the assistant got a few employees together to report him. So the company told him he was to take a medical leave for “being too depressed” or he would be fired. So he went on leave and had a wrist surgery done (he had messed it up while bringing 2 gallons of milk into the workhouse). When he was ready to go back to work the company told him that, he would not be going back to his former houses instead they would put him in a new one. But here is what really gets me, they told him “you are to lie and say it was your idea to not go back to that house” because his assistant got his job. After he had to leave the house they client who nearly choked that one time (who had nearly choked 14 previous times while my dad worked there and my dad saved) had to have a tracheotomy done because they didn’t get the blockage out of his throat in time. Moving on he had to go with the move and worked there for the remainder of his service. Again the same thing happened his staff got together and reported him (not the assistant this time because she actually liked my dad and said that he was the best boss she ever had. And this leads us to now when he was terminated for “lack of leadership now I don’t know about you but what I have just described doesn’t seem to lack leadership (and I can’t even go into all the details because I don’t know them all) And my aunt believed the first reports against my dad but was bypassed when he lost his job in the end.
This brings us back to the date 12-21-2012, now after being told everything that had happened I was just done with my family. We may lose our house, internet, camper, one of the cars, or who knows what else (yes I have a job, no it could never afford the bills). Now I have never been much of a fan of Christmas to begin with, only because I see it as an over commercialized holiday that happens to be on the same day as my birthday (so I think I have a right to be pissed at the holiday and what it has become). The same day my mom says we might not be able to have a dinner (because the dinner takes place… guess where…my aunts…with guess who as the guests… my family and my grandparents (you know the possible divorce ones). So its literally an unstable mess, and the day following the worst day in my life my aunt called the house up and asked if we wanted to finish the tree there…now I completely ignored the phone call and didn’t call her back, cause seriously after all that happened do I really want to finish a tree. Now trying to keep stable until the end of this forsaken year, I just want it to end.
And this is why I am so pissed off this time of the year and more specifically THIS year
